Quitting Smoking and Doctor Visits — Oh My!

Needless to say, starting a diet up again at the same time AF arrives AND you have just quit smoking does NOT make for the nicest few days. We’re on day two of no cigarettes. I think I’m getting a sore throat.
I blame not smoking. LOL
We did get to see the ENT last night. And the result — we’ll be going for the adenoid surgery. Apparently his are really bad (and why the frig didn’t the other ENT say squat about it?!). I’m thinking she’ll probably pull the tonsils too - she mentioned those were large as well. (But let me suffer all these years where I hear from any doctor I ever go to for a sore throat - “You have the biggest boobs tonsils I’ve ever seen.”) So the plan is to go to a pulmonary specialist to get a sleep study done to rule out OSA (Obstructed Sleep Apnea) and then she’ll decide how to do the surgery. Poor kiddo. But hopefully we can get this all taken care of and he’ll be the sweet boy I once knew.
And on that note, it’s time to straighten up a bit. (Remember? I’m trying to be more organized. LOL)
*smooches*

Firstly, please excuse the appearance. I decided on a switch and well, I jumped the gun not realizing I didn’t have sufficient time to change everything. :S
Now on with the New Year.
My resolutions are quite simple this year: lose more weight, quit smoking, be more organized and learn how to stand up for myself and say “No.”
- On the lose weight: I’m down 3 pounds since New Year’s Eve. Woo Hoo.
- On the quit smoking: Been smoke free for 23 hours. Had one cigarette yesterday in total and none today. {Note: I am bitchy today.}
- On the more organized: I can honestly say I am not less organized than usual.
- On the standing up and saying “NO”: Haven’t really had the need to enforce it AOY, but I plan on doing so.
So we’re on day 2 of the resolutions. All and all - not too shabby.
Today we have another ENT appointment for The Kiddo. ::sigh:: I’m at my wits end with this one. All they keep doing is pumping him full of antibiotics, steroids and antihistamines.
This poor kid can’t breathe at night. This is the 2nd ENT we’ve seen. If I don’t like what she says at todays appointment (that I have to drive over an hour to get to) then I’m calling the ped tomorrow and asking what to do since they recommended an ENT in the first place. Grrr.
